| Webcounter Scare
Yesterday, a half-hour after I wrote my last post, I had an influx of visitors. I have never seen my counter saying I have 10 people currently on the site. So, I checked my web stats, and ever minute or 20 seconds, I have somebody coming to the site. For some people, this might have been a good thing. But, for someone who is in the I.T. business, this calls for an investigation before actually jumping for joy. All of these visitors have the same browsers, same PC settings, all blocked referrers and they're all from Comcast subscribers. This went on for hours! It actually just ended around 9am this morning.
All night I was searching everything I could to find out if somebody was talking about me. Or, if someone posted my site somewhere. And, since they're all Comcast, was on the Comcast site news? I am a diva afterall, so it's bound to happen! But, everything seems to be clean. I was literally scared that someone is trying to sabotage my site. I even deactivated it for an hour, thinking it might stop them. But, as soon as I turned it back on, I would have 3 people (including myself) on the site! And then, the counter would just have massive increments every time I do a refresh. I don't count my visits by the way, that's very narcissistic. I'm not a counter freak, I put them there to track who's coming to my site and from where or how.
Anyway, I changed my counter it seemed to be tamed now. I'm back to my usual. Do you know it was a 400% increase from the day before yesterday? It was ridiculous! Like I said in the past, if you're going to come to my site and read like 3 or more pages, and actually spend an average of 30 seconds reading, at least let me know you stopped by!
On a lighter note (no pun intended), look what I found in my man-bag just now. I don't even recall having this.
Now, I'm thinking it's either him and/or her are thinking about me quitting smoking, or is it time to go back and see them again? I think the latter would be easier and "funner".
