iPod Meme

I'm still in the process of uploading the pictures from the laptop to my desktop, so in the meantime, I've been tagged by cutie-pie Frank. And, normally I don't do this, but since I adore Frank, I'll do it this time.

My current top 5 songs and and why I like 'em:

1. Proud by Heather Small - After seeing the last episode of Queer As Folk, I had to dig up the first soundtrack and upload this song to my iPod. You would think it's a gay song, but it's not really. I love the chorus part where it goes "What have you done today to make you feel proud?". You see, it's all about me first before anyone else, OHHHHH-KAY!!!

2. Cue The Pulse To Begin by Burnside Project - This is the new theme song of Queer As Folk. It's very catchy and really danceable. I know you notice how much I mention "thumpa-thumpa" music on a lot of my posts. Well, I heard somewhere that this is the pulse that every gay man has that keeps on beating no matter what. So, when I'm feeling down, I play this music. Hence, "cue the pulse to begin".

3. Duel by Propaganda - I don't know what made me resurrect this. The last time I heard this was senior H.S. - I was in my "Nu Wave" phase, I guess. I'm not sure if you've heard of it, but it's very Siouxsie and the Banshees meets 10,000 Maniacs.

4. Ordinary People by John Legend - It's just a feel good song, don't you agree?

5. Dear God by Ultra Vox and Midge Ure - Another retro song that I really love. It's very appropriate right now with all these things happening around us. The chrous goes "Give me food for the children, give me a worldwide religion, give me peace in this restless world". The last part of the song is my fave. It goes "Dear God! Is there somebody out there? Is there someone to hear my prayer?" It's falls in the early 90's New Wave genre, but it's so deep, I'm not really sure where it fits.

If you want any of the songs. All you got to do is ask ;-)
